The LifeTraveled Career Training USA program for Interns and Trainees is a cultural exchange initiative that provides university students, vocational or technical school students, recent graduates, and young professionals the life-changing opportunity to gain practical industry training and learn American methodologies through various rotations at an American employer, while sharing their own culture and heritage.

Intern Program
You must be a foreign national who:Is between the ages of 18 years old and 30 years old
has verifiable English language skills sufficient to function in their internship environment AND meets one of the two criteria below:
· is currently enrolled and pursuing studies at an Austrian Accredited degree or certificate granting dual vocational or post-secondary institution.
· OR has graduated from such an institution no more than 12 months prior to the internship program start date.
Trainee Program
You must be a foreign national who:Is between the ages of 18 years old and 30 years old
has verifiable English language skills sufficient to function in their training environment. For this program, that usually means that you should have upper intermediate to advanced English knowledge AND meets one of the two criteria below:
· has earned a degree or professional certificate from an Austrian Accredited dual vocational or post-secondary academic institution outside the United States and gained at least one year of related work experience outside the United States in their occupational field.
· OR has five years of work experience outside the United States in their occupational field.
To return to the USA for an additional Intern or Trainee program
There is no limit on the number of times an individual can participate, as long as they meet the eligibility requirements of the program. To re-enter the Intern program, your new training plan must show how it will provide you with skill advancements beyond the skills you acquired on your first program or with skills in a different field of expertise yet still related to your occupational field. To return on the Intern program, you must maintain student status or begin a new program within 12 months of graduation.
Those who are no longer eligible for the Intern program may participate in a Trainee program after two years of residency outside the US following their Intern program. Previous participants of a Trainee program may return after two years of residency outside the US following their initial program.

2-5 MONTHS PROGRAM APPLICATION: The fee for this program is $1,500
6-8 MONTHS PROGRAM APPLICATION: The fee for this program is $1,600
9-12 MONTHS PROGRAM APPLICATION: The fee for this program is $1,700
PLACEMENT with a LifeTRAVELED HOST EMPLOYER: The fee for program placement is $1,000

Insurance
The insurance cost is $60.50 per month.
All participants are required to have LifeTRAVELED-arranged insurance during the entire duration of the program. LifeTRAVELED participants must be enrolled in a comprehensive insurance policy designed specifically for our program, which meets or exceeds the Department’s requirements. The fee is $60.50 per month, and coverage must be from the program's start date to the end date stated on the DS-2019. Additional coverage may be purchased for the 30-day grace period before and after the program dates. Should the program length be extended from the original DS-2019 dates, participants must pay for the additional insurance coverage through the new end date. Insurance is not included in the price and will be due in advance with the program fee.
Additional Fees and Services:
SEVIS I-901: $220 – The SEVIS I-901 fee is a federally mandated fee that supports SEVIS, the automated system that tracks exchange visitors’ activity in the United States. LifeTRAVELED may collect and pay the fee on behalf of the exchange visitor if it is expressly requested at the time of application and can issue a copy of the receipt. A few weeks later, the original receipt will be mailed directly to the participant in his or her home country.
J1 Visa Fee: $185 — The J1 VISA fee will be paid by the Participant directly to the US Embassy when scheduling the J1 Visa appointment after LifeTRAVELED has issued a DS-2019 form as a sponsor. This fee is NOT paid to LifeTRAVELED.
Travel Validation: $35 — All participants planning to travel outside North America during their programs must have their DS-2019 Form validated for travel.
Replace/Amend DS-2019: $100 — This fee applies whenever we need to replace or amend the DS-2019 Form.
Site of Activity Transfer Fee: $550 — This fee applies whenever we need to replace or amend the DS-2019 Form due to a LifeTRAVELED-approved change in the TIPP Site of Activity.
Site of Activity Visit/Vetting: $850 — This fee applies whenever we need to conduct a site visit for a Host Employer to be vetted appropriately.
Program/DS-2019 Extension: $550 — This fee applies whenever we need to amend the DS-2019 Form due to an approved extension of the program within the maximum allowed time. Additional insurance fees will apply for the extension time.
Housing Registration and Placement Fee: $185 — If participants cannot secure self-housing by the required date, they can request Program Housing OR cancel the program based on the cancellation rules in the application. If they select Program Housing, the $185 Non-Refundable Housing Registration and Placement fee will be due by the specified date in the Placement Information Sheet.
