Week of Welcome - Baltimore, Maryland

Baltimore's historical significance and proximity to major US tourist destinations like Washington D.C. and NYC make it a desirable location for Summer Work and Travel participants. Add free public transportation and a world-renowned employer, and it's one of our best placements! (We say this in every post about every placement, but it's always true!)

During Baltimore's WOW, participants learned about historical monuments in Mount Vernon Place and ended their tour in the breathtakingly beautiful George Peabody Library.

I personally loved every bit of it. I learned a lot of the Baltimore culture and George Washigton.

Following the tour, the participants and coordinator assembled gift bags for children at the Ronald McDonald's House. We hope our bags filled with coloring books, crayons, and stickers brightened their days. If not, we know that the heartfelt notes from our participants definitely did.  All of our participants have the power to positively impact communities, both at home and abroad, and we hope our volunteering events spark their desire to do more.

It’s really good to do activities like giving some gifts to the charity and the fact that even the small things can make an impact to a person.

It was so lovely to meet these participants, and as we've seen via Social Media that they are exploring Baltimore and Washington D.C., we know they're truly embracing the purpose of the program!
