Cultural Happenings : Valentine's Day 2020

Love was in the air last week during WWCE’s Valentine’s celebration. Through our Instagram Stories, we shared the history of Valentine’s Day (Did you know? The first mass-produced Valentines were printed in the 1800s) and fun facts (Did you know? 58 million pounds of chocolate are purchased every Valentine’s). Valentine’s is a time when we can be reflective about everything we love - people, places, and experiences. Through Instagram, we engaged with our participants and learned about what they love about their cultural exchange program and which American sweet treats they most love. For every Instagram interaction we had, we will donate one tree to One Tree Planted. To show our participants we care about them and to share traditional American Valentine’s candy, we delivered candy baskets filled with Hershey’s kisses and conversation hearts to our participants.
