EV: Exchange Visitor
Exchange visitors are foreign nationals who participate in a Department of State-designated Exchange Visitor Program.
Example: Our first EV of 2023 is arriving next week!
EVP: Exchange Visitor Program
Exchange Visitor Programs are Department of State-designated cultural exchange programs designed to increase mutual understanding between Americans and people of other countries.

DOS: Department of State
The United States Department of State, or State Department, is an executive department of the U.S. federal government responsible for the nation's foreign policy and foreign relations. The Department of State oversees Exchange Visitor Programs.
Example: Please ensure you follow all DOS regulations while on the program.
SWT: Summer Work and Travel
The Summer Work and Travel program is a cultural exchange program that allows foreign international students to live and work in the USA during their summer break period.
Example: I will be spending my SWT program in New York!
APT: Advanced Professional Training
LiveTraveled’s Advanced Professional Training program corresponds with the BridgeUSA Intern and Trainee programs. The program allows foreign students, recent graduates, and professionals to complete internships or traineeships in their professional field.

ACE: American Camp Exchanges
LifeTraveled’s American Camp Exchanges program encompasses the BridgeUSA Camp Counselor visa and Summer Work and Travel support staff positions in camps. The program provides foreign students, youth-workers, teachers, and those with specialized skills a unique cultural exchange experience at an American summer camp.

SSA: Social Security Administration
The United States Social Security Administration is an independent agency of the U.S. federal government that administers Social Security, a social insurance program consisting of retirement, disability and survivor benefits.

SSN: Social Security Number
A Social Security number (SSN) is a six-digit lifetime number assigned by the Social Security Administration to those who are authorized to work in the United States.
Example: Your SSN card will arrive in the mail.
