April 2019 Most Valuable Participant: Vann John Guinez

Congratulations to Vann - WWCE’s April MVP! WWCE chose Vann because he always keeps in contact with WWCE and shares his cultural experiences with us! Vann’s employer shared with us the following:

He is a joy to work with. Always comes in with a positive attitude and very personable. He is always eager to learn and does not limit himself in gaining knowledge about hosptality in general. His "yes" attitude will surely be missed by the team. We are fortunate to have him for a year and feel confident that whatever path he chooses, will bring him success because, he is hardworking and takes the challenges of the job head on.

Why did you choose to come on an Exchange Visitor Internship program? How are you hoping to apply this program once you’ve returned home? I chose this Cultural Exchange Program because I want to enhance my skills and knowledge in Hospitality Management being trained in different aspects of hotel jobs such as front desk, F&B, and housekeeping. This training aspects that has been given to me will surely help me in my future career when I return back home.

What has been the most memorable aspect of your program? Being able to live and interact with Americans and also other nationalities all over the world is a really big aspect. Being able to speak and to live in a daily basis with them boosted my confidence.

How have you kept your strong, positive spirit during the hard times? There's always somebody here, like new found friends who turned into family. They always have my back during hard times.

What is your favorite thing about being in the US? Being equal.
