Cultural Happenings: Cultural Exchange in the Classroom - Ecuador

In our increasingly interconnected world, cultural competency has become an essential skill. It enables individuals to thrive in collaborative environments, embrace diversity and inclusion, and foster better global relations. As a visa sponsor, LifeTRAVELED pursues innovative opportunities for exchange visitors to share their heritage with diverse groups of Americans.

LifeTRAVELED organized a Culture in the Classroom event where exchange visitors from Ecuador connected with American children enrolled in a dual-language school, offering a unique experience for cultural exchange and learning.

Maria, Andres, Nicolas, and Rafaela brought Ecuador to life through visual storytelling, sharing photographs of their home life, the seemingly mythical creatures of the Galapagos Islands, the unique animals incorporated into the cuisine, and the vibrant festivals and celebrations of their people.

To reinforce the cultural lesson, LifeTRAVELED incorporated a hands-on coloring activity to for the children to explore their creativity and practice their Spanish.

Through this initiative, the exchange visitors played a crucial role in helping the young Americans develop cultural competency and an understanding of the expansive world they inhabit.
