Cultural Happenings: WWCE Chopped

Every Thanksgiving Americans gather together to cook a Thanksgiving meal and share the feast with their family and friends. To share this part of our culture with our participants – our WWCE family – we provided each apartment classic Thanksgiving ingredients and invited them to create their own dish. They could prepare the dish traditionally or let their imagination go wild and infuse their own culture’s cuisine into the dish.

Each dish was judged by Chef Leon, Executive Chef and Loews Portofino Hotel. This was an opportunity for them to engage with American culture, spend quality time with their roommates, impress the Loews Hotel chefs, and win a festive gift card tree!

Our winners are…

FIRST PLACE: Lailanie Enriquez, Sharlene De La Cruz, Renzo Ventura, Airica Fe Allig, and Marlo Lebuna

Our first place winners went above and beyond by cooking five different dishes! They definitely followed the Thanksgiving tradition of creating a feast!

SECOND PLACE: Judy Banzon, Moeesha Gamboa, Emilyn Quilban, Josie Sumalacay

Our second placed winners created a scrumptious meal of Cheesy Mash Potato and Pork Steak with Apple Citrus Salad with Honey Balsamic Dressing.
