Cultural Happenings: Frozen Tundra and Cheese Curds
LifeTRAVELED visited intern and trainee exchange visitors learning about American hospitality to hear their stories about professional growth and cultural discovery and introduce them to the icons of Green Bay - football and cheese.
Our first stop was Lambeau Field, the heart of Green Bay and a true symbol of American football culture. Standing in front of the iconic stadium, bundled up against the chilly air, we could almost feel the energy of game day. For our exchange visitors, it was a fascinating glimpse into the passion and spirit that unite fans across the country — even in subzero temperatures!
After soaking in the sights, we headed across the street to the famous Kroll’s snack stand, a local favorite and the perfect spot to warm up. The highlight of the meal was Wisconsin’s most beloved snack — cheese curds. Crispy on the outside, gooey inside, and full of flavor — it was love at first bite. Then came the debate of the day: yellow or white cheese curds? Both were delicious and opinions were split!
Beyond the food and the fun, the trip reminded us of what makes cultural exchange so meaningful — sharing real experiences, exploring local traditions, and creating memories that connect us across backgrounds. A visit to Green Bay may be cold in temperature, but it was truly warm in spirit.
